A former SpaceX engineer has raised $22 million to repurpose rocket engines as geothermal power plants. Critical Energy, according to reporting, aims to reach 300 gigawatts of annual production by 2045—equivalent to powering roughly 230 million homes. The company is betting that aerospace-grade engineering and heat-handling expertise can make deep geothermal drilling both faster and cheaper than conventional methods.
