Amnesty calls for Dr Abu Safiya's release as he completes 600 days in Israeli detention

Palestinian paediatrician Hussam Abu Safiya has now spent six hundred days in Israeli detention, according to Amnesty International, which is renewing its call for his release. Abu Safiya directed Gaza's Kamal Adwan Hospital and continued treating patients through the territory's healthcare collapse before Israeli forces raided the hospital and detained him on December twenty-seventh, twenty twenty-four. He has been held without charge or trial ever since, Amnesty says, separated from his family and colleagues. In July, more than eight hundred UK doctors, nurses, and medical professionals signed an open letter urging the foreign secretary to intervene on his behalf.
