NASA Roman Space Telescope: First Stage Fueling at 6:30 a.m. EDT

NASA has begun fueling the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket to launch the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope. As NASA Science tells it, the launch vehicle is being loaded with refined kerosene and liquid oxygen to power twenty-seven engines. Once in orbit, the telescope will create a comprehensive three-dimensional map of the universe to study the mysteries of dark matter and dark energy. The mission is scheduled to last five years, with the potential for a five-year extension.
