Victor Willis, the lead singer and co-writer of Village People's Y.M.C.A., has died at age seventy-four. According to France 24, Willis passed away Wednesday. The disco anthem, released in nineteen seventy-eight, became one of pop music's most iconic and durable hits. Willis had recently made headlines by performing the song at Donald Trump's second inauguration in January twenty twenty-five, after initially opposing its political use.
