ChatGPT and Reddit now face EU's toughest online safety rules

The European Commission announced on Monday that OpenAI's ChatGPT, Reddit, and the gaming platform Roblox are now classified as very large online platforms. Per Ars Technica, this designation under the EU Digital Services Act requires the services to protect the privacy of minors and remove illegal content. Failure to comply with these obligations could result in fines of up to six percent of their global revenue.
