Philadelphia’s school selection process postponed to October

Chalkbeat reports that Philadelphia’s school district has pushed back the start of its selective admissions process to October fifth at four p.m., with applications closing on November twenty fourth. The delay, which was originally slated for September eighth, is intended to give families access to the official twenty twenty‑six PSSA and Keystone test results before they make their school choices, officials said. While preliminary scores arrived in June, the district will wait for the state to certify the data, and families need not take any action on the twenty twenty‑six assessments at this time. The district also clarified that only final grades in English language arts, math and science will be considered, and zip‑code and career‑technical program preferences remain in effect.
