According to Variety, StudioCanal is developing a new animated Pippi Longstocking series in partnership with Heyday Films, Submarine, and The Astrid Lindgren Company. The fifty-two-episode series, each eleven minutes long, will be a three-D computer-animated reimagining of the beloved character created by Astrid Lindgren. The project brings Lindgren's famously unconventional red-haired heroine to modern audiences through StudioCanal's partnership with Heyday Films, the production company behind the successful Paddington films.
