Madrid residents brace for noise and disruption from new F1 circuit

Residents in Madrid are protesting a newly built Formula One circuit after tests for the inaugural Spanish Grand Prix showed noise levels nearly double the legal limit. The five point four kilometer track, known as the Madring, was constructed in the northeast of the city at a cost of eighty-three million euros. As The Guardian reports, city and regional officials maintain the project will boost the local economy and attract visitors to the Spanish capital.
