Child trust fund firms face review over efforts to find who owns £1.5bn worth of pots

The Guardian reported on Tuesday that the Financial Conduct Authority has opened a review of child trust‑fund providers, urging them to do more to reunite savers with unclaimed accounts. The regulator says about 760,000 accounts – roughly two thousand pounds each on average – remain unclaimed, totalling more than one point five billion pounds. Families are being encouraged to use a free tracking service as the FCA’s market review proceeds.
