According to BBC World, a fire erupted at the Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach resort in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic, on the Caribbean coast. Nearly seventeen hundred guests and staff were evacuated from the luxury resort. At least one tourist died in the blaze, which drew emergency response to the popular vacation destination.
