Launch HN: Nori Robotics (YC S26) – A low-cost humanoid robot for development

tech

Hacker News reports that Nori Robotics, a Y Combinator S26 startup, has launched a bimanual humanoid robot priced at one thousand six hundred eighty eight dollars. The machine offers nineteen degrees of freedom, two seven‑plus‑one degree‑of‑freedom arms each capable of a one point five kilogram payload, and a fifty‑five kilogram telescoping lift on a differential wheeled base. It carries four seven twenty p cameras, a two‑dimensional lidar, a dual microphone array, and runs on a four‑gigabyte Raspberry Pi five with a four hundred thirty‑two watt‑hour battery. The company says it has already shipped its first unit and is assembling the next batch, aiming to let researchers and developers run large‑scale experiments without the usual high‑cost hardware.
