According to the Associated Press, Iran says it has closed the Strait of Hormuz in response to an Israeli military strike on Lebanon that occurred Saturday. This closure violates a US-Iran memorandum of understanding signed earlier this week. Despite the escalation, US and Iranian representatives are scheduled to meet Sunday in Switzerland for talks.
