Simon Willison's Weblog reports that the OpenAI Codex desktop app, now rebranded as ChatGPT, stashes a hefty one point seven gigabytes of runtime files in its cache folder. That includes full Python and Node.js installations, plus native binaries for Poppler, git, and the LibreOffice office suite. Willison notes the folder also contains skills that tell Codex how to find and use those binaries.
