The animal advocacy community just launched a forecasting tournament on Metaculus, according to LessWrong. Sixteen questions ask crowds to predict the future of corporate animal welfare commitments, alternative protein regulation, octopus farming practices, and how frontier AI systems might address animal welfare. There's a three-thousand-four-hundred-dollar prize pool. The organizers say better forecasts help advocates decide which campaigns to fund and which issues to prioritize.
