Researchers at the International Institute of Strategic Studies say Russia conducted sustained drone surveillance of nuclear sites across the UK, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands over an eighteen-month period beginning in late twenty twenty-four. Analysis of one hundred forty-four incidents found that Russian intelligence operated from shadow fleet vessels with what the researchers call substantial impunity. The campaign included surveillance over RAF Lakenheath, raising questions about Europe's ability to detect and respond to such intrusions.
