world

According to Reuters reporting, Iran is staging a week-long funeral for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the country's former supreme leader. Three of his sons—Mostafa, Meysam, and Masoud—prayed beside his coffin during ceremonies at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosalla, drawing massive crowds to the religious complex. Notably absent was Mojtaba Khamenei, the son who has succeeded his father as Iran's new supreme leader. The country is also taking Khamenei's remains to Shia religious sites in neighboring Iraq as part of the funeral processions.
