entertainment
According to Variety, Bulgarian directors Kristina Grozeva and Petar Valchanov return to Karlovy Vary Film Festival's main competition with their new film, 'Black Money for White Nights.' Set in twenty twenty-two, it examines modern Bulgarian corruption and moral decay, while exploring nostalgia for Russia. The directing duo won Karlovy Vary's top prize, the Crystal Globe, in twenty nineteen for 'The Father,' which competed for Bulgaria in the Oscar race. Their new film dissects both the criminal networks embedded in Bulgarian society and the cultural forces sustaining authoritarian appeal in Eastern Europe.
