According to Al Jazeera, Ramiro Valdes, one of the last surviving figures from Cuba's nineteen fifty-nine revolution, has died at ninety-four. Valdes was a close confidant of Fidel and Raul Castro and played a central role in establishing Cuba's intelligence apparatus in the decades following the revolution.
