Show HN: Pulpie – Models for Cleaning the Web
dev_tools
According to Hacker News, Feyn released Pulpie, open-source models for extracting clean content from webpages. Pulpie strips ads, footers, and sidebars from raw HTML while matching the quality of existing tools—but at a fraction of the cost. Cleaning one billion webpages costs seventy-nine hundred dollars with Pulpie versus one hundred fifty-nine thousand dollars with the current leading extractor. The efficiency comes from architecture: Pulpie uses a single-pass encoder that labels each section, making it compute-efficient on cheaper GPUs—whereas existing tools use decoders that are memory-intensive.
