The United States' home World Cup dream is over. According to France 24, Belgium thumped the co-hosts four to one in their last-sixteen clash yesterday, with Charles De Ketelaere scoring twice to send the Belgians through to the quarter-finals. The buildup was overshadowed by an unusual off-field row: US President Donald Trump intervened to win a red-card reprieve for American striker Folarin Balogun, who ended up starting the match. It wasn't enough to change the outcome, as Belgium cruised past the hosts and out of their path.
