sports

Every AFL club will wear black armbands at this weekend's matches to honour Nathan Fitzgerald, a 27-year-old Melbourne teacher who died after a head clash during a football game. According to The Guardian, Fitzgerald fell and struck his head on a covered cricket pitch during an Australian rules match in Lalor, in Melbourne's north, on Saturday, and was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital. A minute's silence will also be held before the match between the Richmond Tigers and the Melbourne Demons in his memory.
