Ex-Nato chief behind defence review says Starmer’s military spending plan is too little, too late

According to The Guardian, the former NATO chief who led Britain's defence review has turned on the plan to fund it. George Robertson, the ex-NATO secretary general, told MPs on Tuesday that Prime Minister Starmer's defence investment plan — the DIP — is both insufficient and overly delayed, failing to meet the scale of the challenge facing the UK. Robertson warned the plan had damaged confidence within the defence industry and among Britain's allies, who are gathering in Ankara this week for the NATO summit.
