Poet's copyright lawsuit against Taylor Swift tossed again

entertainment

According to Boing Boing, a federal judge in Florida dismissed a copyright lawsuit brought by self-published poet Kimberly Marasco against Taylor Swift, ruling once again that her claimed material is not protected by copyright. Marasco had alleged that more than a dozen songs from Swift's recent albums—Lover, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and The Tortured Poets Department—drew from poems she wrote between twenty seventeen and twenty twenty-one. The judge's dismissal came with prejudice, meaning Marasco cannot refile the lawsuit.
