Show HN: Microsoft releases Flint, a visualization language for AI agents
dev_tools
According to Hacker News, Microsoft released Flint today—an open-source visualization language built for AI agents. The problem: existing chart languages are too low-level, forcing agents to make explicit design choices when they should be automatic. Flint takes a higher-level approach with semantic-based specifications and a built-in layout optimization engine that automatically produces good-looking charts from simple specs. Agents describe what to visualize; Flint handles the design. The tool powers Microsoft's Data Formulator project and ships with an MCP server, so you can integrate it into any agent app.
