France national team uses ICE deportation planes for World Cup travel
sports
According to the Guardian, the French national soccer team chartered flights from Global Crossing Airlines—also known as GlobalX—for at least three domestic flights during their World Cup games in the United States. GlobalX operates more than half of ICE's deportation flights, making it central to the Trump administration's mass deportation campaign. The story drew attention because Kylian Mbappe, France's star player, is one of the world's most outspoken athletes against far-right politics, creating an uncomfortable contradiction with the team's airline choice.
