FTC deal forces John Deere to share repair tools for 10 years

The Federal Trade Commission has scored a right-to-repair victory. According to Boing Boing, the agency has forced John Deere to share repair tools with farmers for the next ten years. The deal ends years of restrictions that prevented farmers from servicing their own equipment and forced costly trips to authorized dealers. Now farmers will regain the ability to maintain and fix their own tractors.
