Iran to allow UN nuclear inspectors back in, Vance says

politics

Vice President JD Vance announced today that Iran has agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors back into the country following the first round of U.S.–Iran nuclear talks in Switzerland. According to Vance, the U.S. sought this access as a key outcome—inspectors last visited Iran before the war in June twenty twenty-five, when American and Israeli forces bombed Iran's key nuclear sites. Vance says coordination for the inspection will begin this week, possibly as soon as today, though Iran has not yet confirmed the timeline. He did not specify what access the inspectors would be granted. Technical teams are expected to continue negotiations in Switzerland as high-level officials depart.
