UK politician Ann Widdecombe beaten to death in own home

Former British politician Ann Widdecombe has been found beaten to death at her home in Devon, England. Boing Boing reports that Widdecombe, a onetime Conservative minister who was seventy-eight and long out of parliament, was found dead on Thursday, and that it was initially assumed she had died of natural causes. It later emerged that she had been beaten to death, and police have arrested a twenty-six-year-old man on suspicion of her murder.
