Belgian theoretical physicist François Englert has died at ninety-three. According to Physics World, Englert shared the twenty thirteen Nobel Prize in Physics with Peter Higgs for their discovery of the mechanism behind particle mass—a fundamental breakthrough in our understanding of the subatomic world.
