According to ESPN, Jason Collins will be honored posthumously with the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage at The ESPYS this July. Collins was the first openly gay NBA player, and his courage in coming out transformed visibility for LGBTQ athletes in professional sports. His twin brother Jarron will accept the award on his behalf.
