Victoria's upcoming electoral overhaul could have an unintended consequence. According to The Guardian, crossbench MP Georgie Purcell is warning that abolishing the state's group voting ticket system without additional reforms might inadvertently benefit One Nation. While Purcell supports electoral reform, she believes the current approach could unfairly advantage certain minor parties. The Victorian government is expected to introduce the legislation once parliament reconvenes from winter break.
