tech

Valve has announced Steam Machine pricing. The base model with five hundred twelve gig of storage costs one thousand forty-nine dollars. The two terabyte version costs one thousand three hundred forty-nine dollars. Steam Controller bundles add seventy-nine dollars each. According to The Verge, Valve isn't subsidizing the hardware—a contrast to traditional console makers who typically absorb losses on each unit to drive market adoption. The Steam Machine positions itself as a premium gaming console alternative.
