The fan fiction that rewrote Harry Potter as an evangelical tract

Boing Boing is reporting on a fan fiction project that reimagined Harry Potter through an evangelical lens. Back in twenty fourteen, an author known as Grace Ann Parsons posted Hogwarts School of Prayer and Miracles on FanFiction dot Net. In her version, Harry is an American orphan raised by his atheist, career-driven aunt Petunia — and Hagrid arrives not as a groundskeeper but as an evangelical missionary. At her reimagined Hogwarts, Headmaster Dumbledore is married with a daughter named Hermione, and the curriculum teaches prayer instead of spells.
