Two men die after going into sea to rescue children at County Durham beach

Two men have died after entering the water at a beach in County Durham in an attempt to rescue two children who had gotten into difficulty. The Guardian reports that police were called to Seaton Carew beach in Hartlepool at around three forty-five in the afternoon on Sunday, after concerns were raised about two youngsters in the sea. The children were confirmed safe, but both men were pronounced dead after being brought out of the water.
