Jana Armstrong’s former partner appears in court charged with murder after body found near Toowoomba

The former partner of an Australian woman found dead near Toowoomba has appeared in court charged with her murder. The Guardian reports that Dharminder Singh covered his face and appeared to sob during a video link appearance at Toowoomba magistrates court, where he was charged with the murder of thirty-year-old Jana Armstrong. His lawyer told reporters that Singh asserts his innocence. The Queensland city has seen an outpouring of grief for the young mother, whose body was discovered over the weekend.
