Ann Widdecombe death: counter-terrorism police take over investigation

Counter-terrorism police have taken over the investigation into the death of Ann Widdecombe, the former British MP and Reform party spokesperson, The Guardian reports. Officers said the decision followed "new information and evidence" coming to light. Her body was discovered with serious injuries by the ambulance service at her home in Haytor, Devon, on Thursday morning, according to Devon and Cornwall police.
