LightNMEA: a fast GNSS parser with minimal memory, specifically for MicroPython and Python

Per Adafruit Blog, LightNMEA is a new parser for GPS and satellite positioning data designed for Python and MicroPython—the embedded variant that runs on microcontrollers like the ESP32 and RP2040. It handles rapid, multi-satellite data streams with minimal memory overhead and zero external dependencies. The library fills a meaningful gap: when it launched, it was the first practical alternative to a single existing GNSS parser available for the MicroPython ecosystem.
