‘Catastrophic failure’: UK Covid families welcome inquiry findings on PPE
politics
The UK's Covid inquiry has delivered what campaigners are calling a catastrophic failure verdict on the country's pandemic response. According to The Guardian, bereaved families welcomed findings by Lady Hallett, a former court of appeal judge, that supported their belief that inadequate personal protective equipment cost lives during the pandemic's second wave. Naomi Fulop, whose mother died of coronavirus in January twenty twenty-one, spoke for the Covid Bereaved Families for Justice group, saying they feel vindicated by parts of the report. The families remain unconvinced, however, by the inquiry's verdict on the so-called VIP lane for awarding PPE contracts.
