According to ESPN, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has sent a letter to Missouri Senator Josh Hawley indicating that the San Francisco Giants failed to properly communicate to players that wearing rainbow-themed caps during Pride Night was optional. Manfred says the guidance wasn't clear to players about whether participating was mandatory or a choice.
