Mermaid to ASCII art (mermaid-ascii)

Per Simon Willison's Weblog, a tool called mermaid-ascii converts Mermaid diagrams into ASCII art. Willison built his own version before discovering an older Go library that does the same thing — but with color support included. He used Claude Fable 5 to compile the existing library to WebAssembly for comparison.
