Eiffel Tower closes early due to heatwave

The Eiffel Tower, one of the world's most visited attractions, closed early today as Paris endures a historic heatwave. According to France 24, the iconic monument couldn't operate in the exceptionally high temperatures, a challenge for a city not designed for extreme heat. Reporter Caroline Baum was at the tower and spoke with some of the last visitors allowed through the gates, as residents and tourists alike struggle to adapt to the sweltering conditions.
