According to France 24, France is confronting a deadly heatwave, with the country experiencing its hottest day on record. On June twenty-second, temperatures reached forty-three degrees Celsius across the territory. The heat has already claimed lives: two young children, aged two and four, were found dead inside a parked car in southern France, and three elderly people died in their homes from the extreme heat. The dangerous conditions have triggered red alert warnings for thirty-nine million people across the country, as authorities struggle to help the population cope.
