France's elderlies particularly at risk as heatwave suffocates country
health
According to France 24, much of France is enduring a historic heatwave. The country has just experienced its hottest afternoon and night since nineteen forty-seven, with temperatures reaching around forty degrees Celsius in major cities including Bordeaux, Rennes, and Toulouse. The extreme heat has already proven fatal—two children were found dead inside a parked car, and forty people have drowned in recent days while seeking relief in water. The danger is especially acute for elderly residents, who face elevated risks from heat-related illness and dehydration during such extreme conditions.
