New monkey: so rare only 8 of 52 nearby villages knew it existed
science
Researchers at Yale have identified a new species of Colobus monkey in the Democratic Republic of Congo—so rare that only eight of fifty-two nearby villages knew it existed. It's only the fifth new African primate discovered in the past seventy-five years. The small, black animal has distinctive orange-cream patches around its mouth and nose, and locals call it the Likweli, according to Boing Boing.
