Iran attacks US allies in Middle East as renewed conflict enters second week
world
Iran has launched a wave of attacks against United States allies across the Middle East, The Guardian reports, as renewed American strikes on Iran entered a second week and fighting escalated over the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwait accused Iran of targeting civilian sites and vital infrastructure, including a power and water desalination plant. That's a serious vulnerability for Kuwait, an arid Gulf state that, according to The Guardian, relies on desalinated water for roughly ninety percent of its drinking supply. Jordan reported downing missiles, and sirens sounded in Bahrain as the confrontation widened across the region.
