Hungary's president Tamás Sulyok has agreed to step down after signing a constitutional amendment that immediately ends his term, The Guardian reports. The amendment was passed by prime minister Péter Magyar's ruling Tisza party and cites a 'serious loss of confidence' in Sulyok as the reason for his departure. Sulyok was initially elected in early twenty twenty-four by lawmakers from former prime minister Viktor Orbán's Fidesz party.
