According to Boing Boing, Irish artist Niall de Buitléar has created 'Duplicate Content,' an eight-minute found-footage work that juxtaposes video art from the nineteen sixties and seventies with contemporary TikTok clips. The piece draws a visual parallel between the self-performance art of decades past and today's social media culture of people filming themselves alone in rooms — a commentary on how the medium of self-documentation has evolved, while the impulse remains unchanged.
