US announces death of another service member, Jordan summons Iranian envoy over attacks

A United States service member has died in northern Iraq during what the military described as a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone, France 24 reports. The military announced the death Sunday, days after two American troops were killed in Jordan late Friday. Also on Sunday, Jordan summoned Iran's most senior envoy in Amman to protest attacks on Jordanian territory, as Tehran targeted American allies across the region in retaliation for United States strikes inside Iran.
