Fast moving southern France wildfire forces evacuations, burns homes in Var

A fast-moving wildfire in southern France drove dozens of residents from their homes on Sunday, according to France 24. More than six hundred firefighters, backed by water-bombing aircraft, worked to contain the blaze near Draguignan in the Var, where strong winds and dry vegetation pushed the flames forward. Authorities said ten homes burned and nine more were damaged, and one firefighter was slightly injured. The Var sits in the Mediterranean south, a region that faces elevated fire risk through the summer months.
