Newspoll has right-wing parties rebounding from a slump three weeks ago

The latest Newspoll, reported on Sunday by The Conversation, shows Australia's right-wing parties rebounding after a brief slump. That slump followed Pauline Hanson's June 17 National Press Club address three weeks ago, when combined right-wing support fell three points while the left surged five points. The new survey, conducted mid-July, essentially reverses that movement: the right-wing vote is now up three points to forty-nine percent, with the left down four points to forty-two percent. Most other recent polls validate this rebound. In primary support, Labor and One Nation are tied at thirty percent each, while the Coalition holds nineteen percent. Prime Minister Albanese's net approval remains at minus eighteen, and Coalition leader Angus Taylor has hit a new low of minus twenty-one.
